Officers from the Prince George RCMP detachment got an interesting surprise when they responded to a call about alleged animal cruelty and came across a massive grow-op.
The incident happened Saturday evening at around 6:30 p.m. Police say they went to a home after receiving a report from a resident that two dogs were malnourished and were being mistreated.
When police arrived, they found a grow-op with 2,100 plants both inside the house and at an outbuilding on the property. Police say they also found more than three kilograms of dried marijuana ready to be sold and the location of a hydro bypass.
The SPCA was called in to remove a German Shepherd and her puppy from the home.
Police are still investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
