Peace Curling Association gets season underway

 

The Peace Curling association is about to get another season underway, with teams vying for entry in the Pomeroy Inn and Suites Peace Curling Championships to be held in Sexsmith, Alberta from Jan 21-23.

20 teams will earn berths to the Tour Championship through play in the 3 Cash Spiels and 4 Super leagues held in Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Grande Prairie and Sexsmith. The season will kick off this weekend with the Grande Prairie Investors Group Cash Spiel.

The tour will then make its way to Fort St. John from Nov. 12-14 for the Rhyason Contracting-Tidy Trucking Cash Spiel. The cash spiel circuit finishes in Dawson Creek for the Mile Zero Open from Nov. 26-28.

The Grande Prairie Total Enerflex Super league has already started play. The Alaska Highway Super League, which is a shared league in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John gets underway shortly. The Q99 Super League in Sexsmith will begin in early November. The 3 Super leagues finish play in February, 2011.

The Pomeroy Inn and Suites Championships will consist of 3 Divisions:
– The Sun Life Competitive Division (8 teams)
– The PCA Challenge Division (8 teams)
– The CanWest Group Benefits Junior Division (4 teams)
