Premier to visit Northeastern BC

The worst kept secret in Fort St. John is now official.

Premier Gordon Campbell will be visiting the Northeast this week. The Premier will make a stop on Tuesday in Fort Nelson for two events. The Premier will visit the construction site of the new Northern Rockies Regional Recreation Centre and attend a reception hosted by Fort Nelson Mayor Bill Streeper.

The Premier will then visit Fort St. John on Wednesday. The Premier will start the day with at Moose FM for an interview on Issues and Answers. You can listen to this one on one interview shortly after the 9am news. The Campbell will then visit the Child Development Centre for the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the new building. MLA Pat Pimm and Minister of Children and Family Development Mary Polak will also attend the event.

Campbell will then help kick off the 2010 Energy Conference with a keynote address at the Pomeroy Hotel. At this event, the Premier will be joined by Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Bill Bennett and MLA Pat Pimm.

To end his visit, Campbell will join the ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Enerplex. Minister of Healthy Living and Sport Ida Chong, MLA Pat Pimm, Senator Richard Neufeld will also be in attendance with Jay and Denny Morrison. That event will start at 5:30pm and the public is invited to attend.
