RCMP bust two crack shacks

Charges are pending against four people after the Dawson Creek RCMP busted two crack shacks in the city.

Police say the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit and General Investigation Section executed two search warrants on the shacks that were in operation in the downtown area. They say they seized small amounts of crack cocaine, marijuana and $1,800 in cash.

They say the two crack shacks were in an area close to bars and that one had probably been open for about one month and the other for about two months.

Police will not release the names of the four people involved until after their first court appearance. They are scheduled to appear in court in January.

Anyone with information about illegal activity in the area is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment at 250-784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
