RCMP in Grande Prairie say they received a call about a break and enter at around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday at one of the residences. They say the man allegedly stole jewelry, vehicle keys and various other items, then went into a nearby garage taking several items, including a duffle bag.

The suspect then tried to enter a third home at around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, but was scared away by the residents. He was later arrested in a nearby backyard.

Police have not released the suspect’s name but say he is currently in custody at the Grande Prairie detachment.
