Timothy Gladysz wins Sunday cyclo cross

The Blizzard Bike Club had a double header cyclo cross on Sunday under incredibly windy conditions.

 

Timothy Gladysz won the morning race with a time of 28:26 for 4 laps of the North Peace circuit. Pat Ferris held off Kevin Shaw for second at 29:30. Gary Hilderman was 4th at 30:50 and Barb Polehoykie 5th at 35:36. Sam Keats was 6th at 37:17 and Owen Giebelhaus 7th at 40:42.

Tristen Bourassa and Drayden Tyrrell did the kids event.
The ‘Sandbaggers’ team of Andrew Tyrrell and Pat Ferris won the afternoon relay cyclo cross race with 50:17. The “hammers’ , Gord Harris and Owen Giebelhaus had 50:23 for second, the Crunchers, Floyd and Barb Polehoykie third at 50:33 and the ‘CanExes’, Kevin Shaw and Dave Menzies were 4th at 50:44. It was an exciting finish with all four teams coming down to the last uphill to the finish for a close finish.

On tap for next Sunday is a cyclo cross at 1 pm at the North Peace circuit. Also, remmeber that Oct. 23 is the annual club awards banquet. Tickets in advance from Ferris Fast Cycles.
