Youth faces assault after pellet gun shooting

A Beaverlodge youth is charged with Assault with a Weapon after he allegedly shot two people with a pellet gun.

Police say the 12 year-old boy shot a 62 year-old man in the face while he was walking his dog at around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 26. The man was shot in his right cheek and returned home to get help from his wife.

The man and his wife then returned to the scene to find the man’s glasses and as they were retrieving the pieces, the 59 year-old woman was subsequently shot in the face, near her left eye.

Both people are still recovering from the injuries they sustained and due to the nature of the man’s injury and his loss of his glasses, the man has apparently lost time at work.

The youth is expected back in court on Nov. 29.
