A 24 year old male from Nicaragua was preparing to move home after a six month work program. He had packed a BB gun with a holster in his luggage. The imitation firearm was detected by airport security and police were contacted.

The BB gun was repacked according to airline policy and the man was able to retain the item. No charges are being filed in relation to the incident.

The RCMP is urging the public to contact airlines if they are planning to travel with firearms or imitation firearms.
