A fire on the 254 road has left 8 people homeless.

At this time the RCMP have not provided details about the fire, but witnesses state the fire started early Thursday morning and has completely destroyed the home on the 254 road, near mile 64 of the Alaska Highway.

Friends have started to ask for help in collecting donations for the family that includes four children.

Jodi Paul is helping to collection donations and states the family needs everything at this point including a place to stay. The children are 1, 4, 9 and 13 years of age.

It is believed the family did not have insurance.

If you would like to make a donation, call Jodi at 250-793-0150 or Brandie at 250-264-8806.   They hope to set up a bank account for people to make cash donations starting on Friday.

Devon Wigglesworth from Patch Java has also stated he will be accepting donations starting on Friday at his coffee house.

If you know of anyone who is fundraising for this family, let us know by emailing [email protected], so we can help pass that information along.  You can also join this Facebook group for more information.
