The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) has decided to hold further seminars relating to the HST in the Peace River Region.
The CRA had previously conducted seminars in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek in September, but has indentified a need to provide further information specifically tailored to the region’s businesses. Subject matter experts brought in from the Vancouver Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch will be presenting additional GST/HST Place of Supply seminars in both Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.
The seminars are designed primarily for those conducting business across provincial boundaries with provinces that do not have the HST. This is especially important in the Peace Region because of its proximity to Alberta.
Businesses that have questions regarding cross-border transactions should submit them along with their registration information. Participants are encouraged to pass along invitations to the seminar to other interested businesses. Registration is mandatory for all attendees.
Anyone interested in registering should email
[email protected] with a preferred time and location. Registration is also permitted by phone by calling Kim Usipuik at 250-561-7811. There is no charge for attending the seminar.
