Huskies battle in Edson

The Huskies just arrived back in Whitecourt where we will be staying tonight before making our way to Slave Lake tomorrow. I thought I should post a quick blog before heading to bed. In fact I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

First of all I wanted to praise the Huskies who made the trip this weekend. Through injuries, suspensions, work commitments and other factors the Pups were only able to dress 10 skaters tonight in Edson. But those 10 put forth a heck of an effort. I honestly think if the Huskies can find 8 more guys willing to put forth that type of effort they will be able to compete with the top teams in the NWJHL. I am not going to single out anyone for special mention because they were all solid. 7-0 was the final score for Whitecourt but I am not sure that score really reflects the action on the ice. Yes, Whitecourt were the better team. They are the best team in the league. But this was definitely a step in the right direction for FSJ.

I will have more tomorrow from Slave Lake. Join me starting at 1:45 with the pregame show. The puck will drop at 2.
