Grande Prairie RCMP are looking into a third report of a suspicious male in the Sexsmith area.

Police say a 15 year-old girl was walking near 97A Street and 100th Ave. between 7 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. A man was driving what is described as a white cargo panel van, approached the girl and asked directions to the Grande Prairie Regional College.

When the girl said she could provide directions, the male asked her to get in the van, but the girl refused. The male then asked her again and opened one of the van doors. The door hit the girl’s knee and she ran into a back alley.

The male is described as being at least 5’8” in height with a little bit of white hair. He also has an old scar below one of his eyes.

Police say that although this is the third such report in the area, this incident is probably not linked to the first two.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment at 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
