The Salvation Army will kickoff its Kettle campaign at the Totem Mall on Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.

 

The organization will have seven kettles out this winter with the goal of raising $200,000. The kettles will be located at WalMart, the Totem Mall, the B.C. Liquor Store, PriceSmart, Sobeys, Safeway and Canadian Tire.

The Salvation Army in Fort St. John has an operating budget of $180,000. Its drop-in centre currently serves an average of 90 meals per day, six days a week. The Family Services program it runs hands out an average 120 hampers a month with a jump to 400 hampers throughout December for Christmas.

The kickoff will include the singing of Christmas carols and everyone is welcome to attend.
