Two people have been injured after a collision between an SUV and a semi-tractor trailer just west of Dawson Creek.

The accident happened Monday evening around 5 p.m. at the intersection of the Dangerous Goods Route and Hwy. 97 South.

Constable Brad Sabo with the Dawson Creek RCMP says the SUV attempted to make a U-turn in front of the semi-tractor trailer, but the truck crashed into the SUV.

Sabo says the two occupants of the SUV had to be cut out of the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. They were then taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the semi-tractor trailer was not injured.
