Northern Lights College students in the new wind turbine maintenance technician program will be getting some hands-on experience with the construction of a wind turbine.

Although the turbine won’t actually be in operation, college officials say the students at the Dawson Creek campus will learn how to assemble, disassemble and maintain the turbine.

The wind turbine is expected to be constructed on the campus by early next year.

Officials also say students will have the opportunity to practice on two 30 KW and 40 KW turbines in a Wind Turbine lab.
