UPDATE An Energeticcity.ca reporter on the scene says the highway is now open to traffic.

A section of the Alaska Highway is closed after a tractor trailer jack knifed on the South Taylor Hill.

Fort St. John RCMP say the incident occurred at around 4 p.m. Sunday and the trailer was carrying sour gas, so they decided to shut down the highway.

The Taylor Fire Department also attended the scene and determined that there were no leaks from the trailer.

The highway has been closed from Taylor to the brake check at the top of the South Taylor Hill.

A tow truck is on scene but the highway is expected to remain closed until at least 8 p.m.
