The Edmonton Journal reports that a 30-year-old rig worker, injured last weekend, after being struck in the head at a well site near Grande Prairie, has died in hospital.
The newspaper says, the accident happened at about 9:30 Sunday morning, at a Novus Energy work site, about 30 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie.
The report says the Precision Drilling worker was hit by equipment, while a crew was pulling a drill pipe out of a well.
It also says, he was transported to Grande Prairie hospital, but then sent to the University Hospital in Edmonton, where he died on Monday.
Occupational Health and Safety is investigating.
