BC Hydro is hopping on board the smart phone train to allow customers easy access to power outage information.

Officials from the company say BC Hydro has launched a new, easy-to-use mobile site that will be accessible from most smart phones. The new site will allow customers the ability to quickly access details on power outages.

Furthermore, BC Hydro is encouraging people to take precautions in the event of a power outage. Officials say people should be prepared with an emergency kit. The kit should include flashlights, a battery-operated radio, a corded-telephone, warm clothing and blankets.
