Time for a quick preview of tonight’s important game between the Wheelers and the Huskies. FSJ are coming off a very tough weekend. Don’t miss the pregame show as we talk about that loss to Beaverlodge plus lots more. The Pre Game Show starts at 8:15 on 100.1 Moose FM and online here at

Who’s Hot?:

F. Kole Norris – Has scored 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in his past 5 games.

F. Robbie Sidhu – Sidhu impressed in the Huskies most recent game. The Pups lost 9-5 against Peace Rive but Sidhu had 1 goal and 2 assists in a losing effort. Cole Calliou has also been good in recent games.

Who’s Not?

G. Travis McLean – It pains me to put the young goalie on this list. But he has been in goal for lopsided losses to Peace River and Beaverlodge recently. I don’t think he was bad in either game and the team in front of him certainly let him down but 16 goals against in 2 games is too much. And Travis would be, and was, the first to admit it.

D. Payden Wongstedt – Was very good against GP 2 weeks ago and scored in Peace River the game before that. But was battling a cold/flu this past weekend and wasn’t able to have an impact on either game. Still the Huskies top scoring D man. Needs to be healthy and playing well for this Huskies team to be at it’s best.

G.P Wheelers:

Currently in 3rd place – 10-5-0-4

Last 5 Games:

  1. Tuesday, Dec. 7th – v.s Dawson Creek (L 3-5)
  2. Sunday, Dec. 5th – v.s Slave Lake (W 6-0)
  3. Saturday, Nov. 27th – v.s Fort St. John (L 2-5)
  4. Sunday, Nov. 21st – v.s Slave lake (W 5-0)
  5. Friday, Nov. 19th – @ Peace River (W 4-3 SH)

Who’s Hot?:

F. Cory Littman – Has scored 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points in his past 5 games. He currently leads the NWJHL points race with 41 points in only 19 games played.

F. Kyle Weegar – Weegr has impressed as of late with 5 goals in the last 5 games. He has also chipped in with 3 helpers in that span and sits 2nd on the Wheelers roster with 15 points.

Who’s Not?

F. Cody Atkinson – After a torrid start to the campaign with 12 points in 14 games, Atkinson has since cooled off only garnering 2 goals and 1 assist in the last 5 games.

F. Riley Halwa – Halwa is currently marred in a frustrating drought with only 1 goal (coming in a shutout win over last place Slave Lake) in his last 5 games. Halwa was relied upon heavily in the early going of the season and put up decent numbers. The Wheelers should be a much better team if Halwa picks up his game.
