The Fort St. John Huskies have themselves a busy weekend.

Aside from the “Skate With the Huskies” event taking place on Sunday, the Huskies will begin a home and home series Friday, against the Sexsmith Vipers.

On Friday, the Huskies will travel to Sexsmith, Alta. to play the Vipers at the Sexsmith Arena. Then the dogs will return home Saturday, as they take on the Vipers at the North Peace Arena. Both Friday’s and Saturday’s game will commence at 8 p.m.

Upon the last meeting between the Huskies and the Vipers, Sexsmith doubled up on the dogs by a score of 6-3. Jordan Chase led the way for Sexsmith, scoring twice and adding one assist.

The Huskies currently sit in fifth place in the NWJHL standings, with a 9-9 record. They only sit three points behind the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks for fourth, so a sweep in this weekend’s home and home series would move our Huskies into fourth place in the league.
