North Peace Leisure Pool water slide opening all year

North Peace Leisure Pool patrons can now slip and slide all year round.

North Peace Leisure Pool Commission announced that it reached both a short and long term goal to resolve the issue of having to close the pool’s water slide due to cold weather.

Facility Manager Steve McLain says that wrapping the slide in an insulated tarp system will provide the pool with a short-term solution.

According to McLain, such a solution is rather inexpensive, which should only cost the pool around $3,000.

With regards to a long term solution for insolating the slide, it is highly likely that renovations will have to be considered in order to fully enclose the slide all year long.

As a result, the pool will issue a Request for Proposal’s (RFP) to build the desired enclosure around the slide. The RFP is to be issued in January.

McLain says the main issue is keeping the pool’s patrons happy. As requests for the slide to be open year around grew, so did the concern of the North Peace Leisure Pool Commission.

Due to the public’s concerns, the message was received and currently the process has begun to make the slide available to the public all year around.
