This past weekend the Petroleum Association Midget Flyers travelled to Grande Prairie to compete in their annual Midget tournament. In the championship game the Flyers lost a hard fought game 3-2 to place second. The game was dominated by the Flyers but they were unable to solve Fairview’s hot goaltending.

To get to the final game, the Flyers opened the tournament with a flat effort and lost to Fairview 6-3. Saturday was a better day with a solid effort to defeat Dawson Creek 6-1 and then beating the home town Grande Prairie 8-3 to place second in the round robin and move to the Sunday Championship tilt.

Ryan Bueckert and Ty Helgason shared the weekend goaltending duties.
