Several witnesses called in the accident and stopped to help the two occupants of the pickup truck.

The pickup truck was reported to have left the road and rolled over in the ditch.

Both a 50 year-old man and a 47 year-old woman were taken to the hospital in Prince George.

The man received nonlife threatening injuries, but the woman died from her injuries.

Police say they were from the Southern Interior community of Chase, B.C., but their identities are not being released at this time.

Both the Prince George RCMP and the RCMP North District Traffic Services are investigating and say they are trying to determine the cause of the collision.

The highway should currently be open to alternating lanes of traffic.
