Prince George RCMP are investigating after a transport tractor trailer narrowly avoided crashing into a Boston Pizza.

Police say they received a call on Thursday just after 1 p.m. local time that the driver of the tractor trailer had lost control.

When police arrived, they say they found a fully loaded chip truck just feet from the restaurant. They say it appears the driver wasn’t able to use the brakes while travelling down the Peden Hill on Highway 16.

The driver then drove the truck over a meridian so as to avoid crashing into other vehicles.

Police say no one was hurt in the incident and no other vehicles were involved.

RCMP and Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspectors are investigating the incident.
