UPDATE – As of 9pm, the highway is now open in both directions.

 

The Alaska Highway is currently closed near the 230 road south of Taylor.

The Highway has been closed after a head-on collision involving two vehicles.  The RCMP have confirmed that one person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As of 7:45pm, the RCMP have stated the highway will be closed until the collision investigator from Dawson Creek arrives on scene.

At this time the RCMP do not know when the highway will re-open and there is no detour available.
