The exhibition tournament was set up in order to give the Flyers their first AAA experience of the season, before taking to the ice for the Savage Cup.

There is some familiarity between the Flyers and the Mohawks, who played each other six times last season. The teams are scheduled to play each other four more times before the Savage Cup takes place this year.

The Flyers will get reacquainted with ex-Flyer Tyler Brough. The forward played for the Flyers during their Allan Cup winning season and currently plays for the AAA Mohawks.

Fort St. John will see some previous teammates return to the roster for the weekend’s event. Chris Stevens and Kip Noble will be called up from the Dawson Creek Canucks. As well, Goaltender Clayton Pool will be added to the Flyers roster.

Saturday’s game starts at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. Both of those games will take place at the North Peace Arena.
