Denny Morrison made his return to the podium today.

At the 2011 national championships, which began today and were held at the Calgary Olympic Oval, local speed skater Denny Morrison placed first in the 1500m event.

To earn top spot in the race, Morrison edged out Regina’s Lucas Makowsky by 0.21 seconds.
