Police arrest armed robbery suspect in Prince George

One man has been arrested after two separate armed robberies in Prince George, Monday night.

Prince George RCMP say one male robbed the Shooters Liquor Store at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time. The man apparently claimed to have a firearm, but it was not visible to the store clerk. The man then made off with a small amount of cigarettes.

Subsequently, police say the First Litre Cold Beer and Wine Store was robbed at around 10 p.m. local time. The suspect stole some cigarettes and liquor during the robbery.

They say officers were able to locate a 47 year-old man from the Southern Interior a short time later and arrested him.

The man is facing two counts of robbery with a firearm, uttering threats and public mischief.

Police are still investigating but are asking anyone with information in regards to these incidents to contact the Prince George RCMP detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
