RCMP name several accused in massive drug bust

The names of eight people arrested in the massive undercover cocaine bust in Fort St. John have been released.

The Fort St. John RCMP Drug Section arrested 15 people after a four month long undercover operation. The fifteen people are facing a total of 40 charges.

The accused are all between the ages of 19 and 53.

Corey Chalmers is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine. He is 19 years-old and has been released from custody but is expected in court on Feb. 2.

Kayla Stone is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and police say they are recommending a further charge of trafficking. The 22 year-old has been remanded in custody and is set to appear by video link in Fort St. John court on Jan. 13.

Brendan Fair has been charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The 24 year-old was granted bail and is expected back in court on Jan. 19.

Shawn Starr is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine. The 28 year-old has been released on bail and is set to appear in court on Jan. 19.

Billy-Joe Dore is charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The 37 year-old has also been charged with five offenses because police say he had a loaded handgun when he was arrested. Additionally, he is charged with breaching a court order. Police also say they are further recommending Dore be charged with six charges relating to breaching a recognizance. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Jan. 19.

Clayton True is charged with one count of trafficking cocaine. The 40 year-old has been released on bail but is expected back in court on Jan. 26.

Christopher Pierre was charged with one count of trafficking cocaine. The 45 year-old pleaded guilty on Wednesday and received a 12 month conditional sentence. As part of the sentence, Pierre must live at a local drug recovery centre, complete a drug treatment program and abide by a curfew. He is also prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol or non-prescription drugs.

Linda Green is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The 53 year-old has been remanded in custody until she appears in court on Jan. 19.

Police say there are four other men who had been arrested during the initial bust but will not be identified until they have made their first court appearances. In the meantime, all four have been released but are expected in court on Feb. 23 and Mar. 3

Furthermore, police say three other men are still under investigation in regards to the undercover operation.
