Update #2 – as of 8:30pm Friday, the snowfall warning has ended for the Peace Region.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Peace Region.

Snowfall amounts 10 to 15 cm expected today through tonight over BC Peace River region.

An Arctic front over Northern British Columbia is spreading snow at times heavy to the British Columbia Peace River region.  Already 8 cm of snow has fallen over the Fort St John area today and additional amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected this afternoon through tonight before the Arctic front pushes southward overnight.

With the wind gusting up to 50 km/h the temperature is expected to be steady near minus 13, but with the wind chill, it will feel more like minus 28.

The forecast for Saturday calls for temperatures near minus 17 with sunny periods.
