Community Interviews with Moose FM

Jenkins began his day with a lunch at J.D. Fitzgerald’s, where Mayor Bruce Lantz, various City Council members and other lucky citizens, ate lunch with the the Hall of Famer.

After the meal, Jenkins made his way to Moose FM, where Mike Feeney and myself had the pleasure of chatting with "Fergie" live on the air.

Mr. Jenkins followed our fun filled interview with a trip to the post office, where he signed autographs for any of the lucky people in attendance.

Ferguson capped of his Fort St. John experience with a presentation at the North Peace Cultural Centre. The presentation included an unveiling of the stamp which Canada Post made in Jenkins’ honour.

Jenkins also made a heart felt speech for those in attendance, discussing his life as a pro athlete, his heritage and his family.

Ferguson Jenkins trip to Fort St john, inspired by Black History month, was a memorable one for everyone involved. His positivity was contagious and was a real treat for anyone who had the pleasure of interacting with the best Canadian baseball player of all time.
