Grande Prairie teenager facing arson charges

One youth is facing six counts of arson after three dumpster fires in Grande Prairie.

Grande Prairie RCMP say they and the Grande Prairie Fire Department responded to a call at the St. Clements School Wednesday night just after 10 p.m.

Police say they found two dumpsters on fire in the school parking lot and then found a third dumpster on fire in the parking lot of a gas station. All three fires were extinguished and there was only minimal damage caused.

Police arrested a 16 year-old male at the gas station. He was later released but is expected to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court at a later date.
