Northern Health hands out IMAGINE grants

Northern Health will provide 15 groups in the Northeast with funding to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in our region.

The 2011 IMAGINE grants came from various Northern Health programs including NH’s Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) program, Heal for Your Heart, Injury Prevention, RoadHealth and Healthy Minds, Healthy Youth.

Approximately $120,000 was handed out to the following groups and programs.:
 
Chetwynd
*The Sukunka Group – Moberly Lakeside Chefs (HEAL)

Dawson Creek
*Dawson Creek Literacy Society – Health Matters (HEAL for Your HEART)
*South Peace Community Resources Society – Good Grub (HEAL for Your HEART)
*South Peace Community Arts Council – Circus North Workshop 2011 (Healthy Minds, Healthy Youth)

Fort Nelson
*Fort Nelson Community Literacy Society – Health! Its Up To You (HEAL for Your HEART)
*Fort Nelson Family Development Society – Community Garden Enhancement (HEAL)
*Fort Nelson Public Library – Healthy Minds, Healthy Youth (Healthy Minds, Healthy Youth)

Fort St John
*City of Fort St John – Official Community Plan – Revision – Food Security (HEAL)
*Fort St John Women’s Resource Society – Community Garden (HEAL)
*North East Native Advancing Society – Open Mic (Healthy Minds, Healthy Youth)
*City of Fort St. John – Helmet Safety Awareness (Injury Prevention)
