Vehicle fire caused highway 2 closure

Highway 2 is now open to single lane alternating traffic after a vehicle fire.

Dawson Creek RCMP say a mechanical fire began in a pickup truck which forced them to close the highway for safety reasons between Tomslake and the Alberta border.

Police say the vehicle occupant suffered only minor injuries because of the fire.

They could not say what caused the fire.
