Sean Budnick has made one of his first court appearances in Fort St. John.

Budnick appeared in court by video link from Prince George Wednesday morning for a scheduled hearing in front of Justice of the Peace Faye Campbell.

He is charged with several criminal code offences related to the forcible confinement of a 45 year-old woman on Feb. 4. He is charged with attempted murder, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

In a relatively brief appearance, Budnick’s hearing was adjourned for one week.

The reason for the adjournment was due to the fact that Budnick had changed defense lawyers and his new lawyer requested more time to review the case.

Budnick is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on March 30, at 9:30 a.m.
