Dawson Creek liquid nitrogen plant expansion

A liquid nitrogen plant in Dawson Creek hasn’t even started production yet and already the operator is doubling its capacity.

Ferus Incorpoated says its 200-tonne-per-day liquid nitrogen plant will be operating by this fall, but a new plant is already under construction.

The second state-of-the-art plant will boost production of liquid nitrogen to 400 tonnes daily as Ferus scrambles to meet the needs of B.C’s expanding energy sector.

The Calgary based company says the second plant will be on line by early next year and liquid nitrogen from both facilities will stimulate production of clean-burning natural gas from wells located throughout Northeastern B.C.
