Police say the driver of a grey Nissan Xtera was attempting to make a left hand turn onto 98 St. when a grey car hit the back of the Nissan. The Nissan was then sent into oncoming traffic.

The grey vehicle fled the scene. It is not known what type of vehicle it was, however police say the witness believes it was similar to a Ford Taurus.

The vehicle had an accessible parking tag hanging from the rear view mirror and the driver was described as an older male. He was wearing a baseball hat at the time of the incident.

Police say they are trying to identify the vehicle, which would have a considerable amount of damage to the hood and/or grill.

Anyone with information about this incident or who can identify the vehicle, licence plate or driver, is asked to contact the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8140 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
