B.C. Transit has announced two new routes throughout Fort St. John.

The new bus routes began Monday, April 4, and are the 4 Southeast and the 5 Southwest. Transit officials say the routes will help service the city’s elementary schools and North Peace Secondary School.

In addition, the transit authority announced that it is also adjusting route schedules to ensure buses are on time, as well as removing detours in existing routes to ensure they are more efficient.

The announcements come just one month after B.C. Transit held its 30th anniversary of transit in the city.
