A Fort St. John male is dead after a single vehicle rollover on Highway 29 this weekend.

Chetwynd RCMP now say they and other emergency services attended the rollover scene at 10:15 p.m., Saturday.

They say the driver of a Dodge minivan was travelling north on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle, which then went into the ditch, rolling several times.

Carey Raymond Hutchins was ejected from the minivan and declared dead at the scene.

Police say they believe speed, alcohol and Hutchins’ not wearing a seatbelt were all factors in the incident.
