Waiting on a snow storm; still expected today

UPDATE – As of 6:30a.m. the snow has started to fall in Fort St. John.

We begin this day with this question….Where’s the snowstorm?

According to Environment Canada, the answer is…just wait.

It’s still calling for 10 to 15 centimeters of snow today, driven by a strong easterly wind and about a 70 per cent chance of more flurries on Friday.

So we assume what meteorologist Lisa Caldwell told us Wednesday about the storm, is still true except for the arrival time, which had originally been pegged, at shortly after midnight Thursday.

As for what comes in the wake of system, here’s what she said about that.

The current forecast, supports that, calling for highs today, tomorrow and Saturday near freezing and only about three degrees better than that, on Sunday and Monday.

The local area norm for this time of year is 11 degrees.
