A Hudson’s Hope man has been killed after an early morning collision.

The Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a call at approximately 3:00 a.m. Thursday that a pedestrian had been hit on Canyon drive near Airport road.

During the course of the RCMP investigation it’s believed that two vehicles were traveling on Canyon drive. The first swerved to miss what was initially thought to be a deer.

The second vehicle ended up hitting the deer, which turned out to be a male lying on the road. The second driver then lost control of the vehicle and rolled into the ditch.

The Hudson’s Hope RCMP have not released the identity of the deceased male, but have said he is a resident of Hudson’s Hope.

Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in this case and the family of the victim has been notified.

The RCMP are still investigating this tragic event.
