Surging water levels postpones search for boy who drowned in river

Search efforts will resume when the water levels recede to allow personnel to continue in safety. Police report an expanded search by air did not yield any results yesterday.

The 14-year-old boy was reportedly swimming with other youth on the west side of Red Willow Falls at around 8:50 p.m. when he was pulled under by the current. The falls are located south of Elmworth, a hamlet about 27 kilometres southwest of Beaverlodge.

Police are not releasing any more details about the boy at this.
