A university soccer team is holding a five day long development camp in Fort St. John.
The University of Victoria Vikings Soccer Camp program is currently being hosted at the Fort St. John Soccer Club, which began Monday and will run until Friday, July 29.
The team, as well as head coach Bruce Wilson are teaching 77 youth between the ages of 9-17 the skills necessary to succeed in the game of soccer.
The camp is being held at Dr. Kerney Middle School and the Surerus soccer fields, taking place every day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The development camp has split each day into two programs, with all participants taking part in drills from 9-11:45 a.m., then the older group of students scrimmaging for the latter portion of the day.
It’s been an eventful week for sports in Fort St. John, as the city is also currently hosting a group of top tier speed skaters, who have been training in town for the past week.
