Authorities investigating break and enter

A break and enter is currently being investigated by Fort St. John RCMP.

On Monday, Aug. 22, local RCMP responded to a break and enter call at 89 St. in the Mathews Park area of the city.

According to authorities, a home owner returned home at approximately noon, when they heard someone inside their home and proceeded to call the police. Upon arrival, RCMP determined that a break and enter had occurred, as items were missing from the house.

RCMP and the homeowner are still trying to determine what was taken from the home.

General police as well as a service dog proceeded to canvas the neighbourhood, but were unable to locate a suspect at the time. Authorities also believe that a vehicle was involved in the incident.

The RCMP forensic team also examined the crime scene and the incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to contact the local RCMP detachment at 250-787-8107.
