Chetwynd residents urged to be wary of bears

Police say they have responded to several calls of black bears around Chetwynd just over the last week.

They say anyone who is participating in outdoor activities is asked to be cautious and ensure their property is bear proof to decrease the chance of encountering a bear.

Anyone who spots a black bear is asked to contact the Chetwynd conservation office at 250-788-3611.
