Fort St. John will be receiving a visit from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
Taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 23, B.C.’s Community Gaming Grant Review will be holding a community forum at the North Peace Cultural Centre from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
At the community forum, Skip Triplett, who was recently appointed to lead the independent review, will be examining the role of government when allocating gaming revenue, with input from charities, non-profit organizations, community members, local government, as well as anyone else who would like to participate.
The forum will also include reviews, as well as provide options for a number of issues, including existing governing legislations of community gaming grant funding, funding formulas and eligibility for community gaming grants.
It will also cover the process involved in applying for and receiving grants, multi-year funding models and the government’s future role in community gaming funding.
Any group or individual interested in making a presentation at the forum must reserve speaking time. This can be achieved by registering online at the B.C. government’s official website.
Anyone wishing to attend is also encouraged to register online.
