Dawson Creek resident wins 6 gold medals

O’Reilly won all her gold medals in the 65-69 age group in the 50m butterfly, the 200m freestyle, the 100m freestyle, the 50m freestyle, the 25m butterfly and the 25m freestyle.

O’Reilly wasn’t the only person from the South Peace to pick up medals.  Tumbler Ridge residents Bernie Lehmann, Glenn Miller, Martha Kennedy, Colleen Gies and Lloyd Hanberg each won medals in golf.

Close to 80 athletes from all over the Peace River-Liard region participated in the event held this past weekend in the West Kootenays.  In total Peace River-Liard athletes brought home 18 medals from the games.  The 2012 B.C. Senior Games will be held in Burnaby.
