The Ministry of Transportation and Caribou Road Services Ltd. say that Highway 52 will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 16 and 17 as maintenance work is done to a temporary bridge structure over Brassey Creek, located about 26 kilomtres south of the junction with Highway 97 at Arras.

The highway will be open between 4 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. on Wednesday. However, during maintenance no local detour will be available, so Tumbler Ridge will have to be accessed by Highway 29 via Chetwynd.

A temporary bridge was constructed on Highway 52 after a washout caused by flooding in early July.
