Rodeos seem to be one popular event around the Peace Region.

Taking place from August 20-21 is the Halfway River Valley Round-Up Open Rodeo, an event featuring both bull riding and saddle bronc riding events.

The rodeo will be taking place on Mile 95 on the Alaska Highway, 34 Kilometres west on road 117 and will begin at 1 p.m.

The two day rodeo will be featuring a variety of events including bull riding, barrel racing, and bareback to name a few.

The cost to compete in an event is $55 for adults, with each event winner walking away with a $500 dollar purse, $1000 for the bull riding and saddle bronc riding.

Also being featured is a junior category, with nine different events taking place and the cost to register ranging from $15 to $55.

Entries to compete in the rodeo are being accepted until August 19 and applications can be submitted between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., cash only.
