A North Peace Secondary School graduate has received some help in paying for her post secondary education.

On Aug.19, Inspector Patrick Egan of the Fort St. John RCMP Detachment awarded Fort St. John resident Shalene Wilson with a $750 scholarship.

Wilson was the successful applicant of this year’s RCMP scholarship and will be using it to support her goal of pursuing a career in criminal and social justice.

The North Peace Secondary graduate will be furthering her studies next year, as she plans on continuing her education at Okanagan College.

Funds for this particular scholarship were raised locally within the detachment and awarded to students who wish to pursue careers in law enforcement.

Any interested students can obtain further information as well as an application through a career counsellor at North Peace Secondary School.
